Case-mate’s latest Signature Series Leather Case ($30) is for the iPod touch 2G, using the same combination of a hardshell and black leather coating we’ve seen in earlier generations of the product.
This one is, however, a major step forward over the iPhone and iPhone 3G versions of Signature: it’s nicely sculpted to the new iPod touch, with an improved full face screen protector that leaves only the Home button open; the top, bottom, and side buttons are also exposed in the reasonably priced design.
Its only issues are the lack of complete top and side protection, as well as its incompatibility with Universal Docks; it’s otherwise a very accessory-friendly case due to its open bottom, and works with oversized headphone plugs.
