Griffin always comes prepared for big CES debuts, and this year is no different. The company has a huge collection of new audio accessories, a novel new motion sensing wand co-developed with Crayola, cases in a newly expanded Survivor series, and Nickelodeon-licensed cases.
Griffin’s StudioConnect with Lightning ($150) is an updated version of the earlier MIDI and audio charging dock, now featuring a Lightning connector. More details on the original version are ?here.
Designed for use with Algoriddim’s djay and vjay apps, DJ Connect ($100) is a volume knob with stereo output and headphone output.
It ships with a Dock Connector, a USB connector, and is planned to include a Lightning connector as well.
MicConnect ($40) is a XLR connection with microphone input, gain control, and headphone output with phantom power; it uses two AA batteries.
WoodTones Headphones with Control Mic ($100) are on-ear headphones with wood accents, a leather headband and faux-leather earpads. It includes a cable with a mic and one-button remote control.
KaZoo Headphones ($20) feature kid-friendly designs like the company’s earlier KaZoo cases; penguin and frog headphones are examples, each with matching cute headphone plugs.
The Crayola Light Marker ($30) is a kid-focused drawing wand, capable of having its motions sensed using the iPad’s built-in camera. It works with a new Crayola app, and an iPad stand is included.
Based on the earlier PowerDock series of multi-device chargers, PowerDock 5 ($100) is the first to have users self-supply their own cables for charging. The plastic tray can hold any five Apple devices you want to charge at once — including five iPads — and includes five side-mounted USB ports for charging devices.
The product of a new licensing deal between Griffin and Nickelodeon, these cases feature licensed characters such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and SpongeBob SquarePants — an 8-bit SpongeBob design is particularly interesting.
